My name is Lisa, I am 43 years old and I moved permanently to Sweden at the end of 2023!
This blog follows my journey to a healthier and happier me, discussing different events I take part in, training and product reviews. It’s an honest account of my journey – warts and all!
Where did my journey start? Back in 2015 I would be the one-woman cheer leader for my husband as he took part and completed many many sporting events. Never did I think that I would be taking part in an event – would much rather be nursing a large glass of wine and yet here I am. Who would have thunk it?!
I had never been sporty in any way shape or form. I was the girl at school who wold write a fake note from my mum for PE class to get out of doing it – most weeks! Knowing where to start was hard – so I plagued my husband with questions and we joined a gym together. I hated the gym! My opinion was that the gym seemed to be full of fit people who make it look so easy whilst it takes me all of about two minutes to turn beetroot red and sweat – they say women glow, I don’t, I sweat, like a beast! So I would not go on my own – the thought petrified me! But now I do, all the time and I love it.
I didn’t used to take part in any sporting activity and now it is part of my everyday life. My journey does not have weight loss at the centre and instead I intend to be my own kind of strong, my own kind of fabulous and my own kind of amazing. I am not in competition with anyone else. I will run my own race (or more than likely jog a bit and walk a bit). I fully intend to continue to embrace the glorious mess that I am.
Through this journey I have taken up cycling, running including obstacle running – I am at my happiest when on my bike or covered in mud at an OCR event.
I am an ambassador for the following brands:
- Premax – supporting me with my adventures supplying all the necessary skin care.
- This Girl Can Essex – through this I have really enjoyed encouraging other ladies to join me getting more active.
- Foher – the best community of like minded people who share my same passion for cycling.
