All About Me

My name is Lisa and I am 37 years old.

I am part way through a journey of losing weight and getting fit. This blog follows my journey from an every day person’s view getting started with fitness, discussing different events I take part in. It’s an honest account of my journey – warts and all!

Where did my journey start? Back in 2015 I would be the one-woman cheer leader for my husband as he took part and completed many many sporting events. Never did I think that I would be taking part in an event – would much rather be nursing a large glass of wine and yet here I am. Who would have thunk it?!

I had never been sporty in any way shape or form. I was the girl at school who wold write a fake note from my mum for PE class to get out of doing it – most weeks! Knowing where to start was hard – so I plagued my husband with questions and we joined a gym together. I hated the gym! My opinion was that the gym seemed to be full of fit people who make it look so easy whilst it takes me all of about two minutes to turn beetroot red and sweat – they say women glow, I don’t, I sweat, like a beast! So I would not go on my own – the thought petrified me! But now I do, all the time and I love it.

Two years ago I did not take part in any sporting activity and now it is part of my everyday life. I am now 60lbs lighter than when I started and although I still have a long way to go I am determined to get there.

Through this journey I have taken up cycling, running including obstacle running – I am at my happiest when covered in mud at an OCR event.

I am also a This Girl Can Essex ambassador and through this I have really enjoyed encouraging other ladies to join me getting more active.

      1. Hi Lisa,

I hope things are going well! I have been tasked with recruiting a number of PTs at Myprotein to join our newly created PT scheme and I think you would benefit greatly from this! I came across your Twitter and was very impressed!

Briefly, the PT affiliate scheme works as follows :

        • Customers use a traced URL/link
        • Your code will be a 15% discount for new customers and 8% Discount for returning customers.
        • You will be awarded commission if somebody shops with your link and doesn’t necessarily use your discount code.
        • We now deposit your commission as cash directly into your Affiliate window account which can then be transferred into your bank account
        • More accurate tracking and up to date reports so you can monitor your results
        • Weekly promotional emails detailing all the latest offers we have, enabling you to promote Myprotein both online and offline

Through the use of social media and word of mouth, the uncapped commission opportunities are limitless.

Plus you can get a nice little discount code for you and your customers!

Hope to hear from you soon,

        Barney

  2. Awesome blog! Resonates so much! I started my fitness journey in July 2014 and have lost 65lbs so far, done some cycling sportives and a couple triathlons. Next challenge is Oxford to Paris in 24 hours (2016) but have to get my average pace up to 25kph from the 18kph it currently is … would love to share tips/stories/sore knee tales 🙂
Keep it up – you’re doing amazingly!!!
